Community Newsletter ~ featuring Remembrance Day ceremonies in Burnaby and in New Westminster

Dear Neighbours,

I encourage everyone to participate in the Remembrance Day Services in our community. In this way, we pay tribute to those who served and are serving Canada proudly.

Please come out on Friday November 11 -to the ceremonies in Burnaby or in New Westminster to honour and remember all those who served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace.

Burnaby Remembers

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #148 (North Burnaby) Confederation Park Cenotaph - ACTING MAYOR COUNCILLOR SAV DHALIWAL will attend. Marchers gather at 10:00 am - Safeway parking lot 4440 East Hastings Street. Parade begins at 10:30.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #83 (South Burnaby) Bonsor Park Cenotaph - MAYOR DEREK CORRIGAN will attend Imperial Street at Nelson Avenue. The parade will start at 10:30 in front of the Legion Branch #83 (5289 Grimmer St.).

New Westminster Remembers

Friday, November 11, 2011, in the Armoury, located at the corner of Sixth Street and Queen’s Avenue. The Royal Westminster Regiment Band will play music at 9:30 AM. The service will commence at 10:00 AM. The memorial address will be given by Peter Legge. Following the ceremonies in the armoury, the parade to the Cenotaph will commence at 10:40AM.
